Andreas Samaris ((ギリシア語:Ανδρέας Σάμαρης); born 13 June 1989) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Portuguese club Benfica and the Greece national team.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Andreas Samaris profile )〕 ==Club career== He made his first football steps at an early age in his hometown team PAO Varda. He started his career in Gamma Ethniki side Panachaiki in 2006, making a total of 37 league appearances and scored three goals for the club. On 10 April 2007, Samaris signed his first professional contract in Panachaiki. On 11 January 2010, he moved to Panionios.〔 Samaris joined Olympiacos in August 2012 for a transfer fee of €350,000, but he was loaned to Panionios for 2012–13 season. He scored his first goal with the club on 23 November 2013 in an away 4–1 victory against Panthrakikos. Samaris ended the league with 38 appearances and scored four goals en route to the Greeks' 41st title. On 22 August 2014, Samaris moved abroad and joined Portuguese champions Benfica on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €10 million and with a €45 million release clause. He made his debut for the Eagles on 12 September against Vitória Sétubal. On 15 March 2015, the yellow card drawn from referee's pocket at the league match against Braga took Samaris to the top of the list of Benfica midfielders with the most yellow cards in a season, ten, under the helm of manager Jorge Jesus; Javi García previously the record with nine, set in both the 2009–10 and 2011–12 seasons.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Samaris: cartões é com ele )〕 At the end of a successful 2014-15 season, Samaris mentioned that the language was a barrier in his first year with the club. In the second half of the extra-time Islam Slimani continued his goalscoring and leveling the score to 2-1 after an incomplete defense shot from Adrien Silva.
